VIRGINIA HEALTH INFORMATION HIRES NEW HEALTHCARE ACCOUNTANT

VHI recently hired a new Healthcare Accountant, Nicole Allen. Having started in September, she is responsible for reviewing the Efficiency and Productivity Information Collection System (EPICS) on ambulatory surgical centers, hospitals and nursing facilities. Nicole attended the State University of New York College at Cortland and received her undergraduate degree in sports management and received her Master of Business Administration in professional accounting from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. Previous to VHI, Nicole worked at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center for two and a half years as an Accountant. Before moving to Virginia, she was an Accountant for the Diocese of Buffalo for four years.

Nicole grew up in Derby, New York, a small town outside of Buffalo. Growing up in and around Western and Central New York her whole life, she spent a lot of weekends walking around Niagara Falls or going to Canada for lunch. "It is strange not having both Canadian and American money in my wallet at all times," says Nicole. She moved to Fredericksburg, Virginia in 2017 when her husband relocated for work. The two spent the last three years debating on whether to move North or South of Fredericksburg and decided on Richmond, Virginia after the city reminded them of their hometown.

Nicole says she is most looking forward to being a part of a nonprofit organization with her role at VHI. She and her husband, Keith, consider themselves "foodies" and are excited to explore Richmond and discover their new favorite restaurant.

VHI is thrilled to have Nicole join the team and knows she will be a great asset to the team!
